Solomon Circle Residence - Asheville, NC
Nestled into a forested hillside, the residence is situated parallel to the slope to maximize panoramic views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The house is integrated into the topography to minimize site disturbance and facilitate accessible indoor-outdoor living. A simple refined exterior material palette of fiber-cement and cedar siding, glulam roof beams, and boulder retaining walls harmonize with the natural landscape, enabling the house to quietly occupy its site. The project was designed by LAYR in collaboration with Real Design Architecture and received an AIA award for residential design in 2022.
